Player Depature | Josh Smile

Halesowen Town FC can confirm that after two seasons as a Yeltz player, one of which as team captain, Josh Smile has departed the club.

Josh made a total of 92 appearances for the club having first joined the Yeltz in late August 2024 after a spell in the National League North with Banbury United & Gloucester City in the 22/23 & 23/24 campaigns respectively.

Smiler made 42 appearances in his first season at the club, and scored his only goal for the Yeltz against Stamford AFC in January 2025. At the start of last season, he was made team captain after the departure of Ryan Wynter.

The Yeltz number 4 missed just two games in the entirety of last season (vs Leamington in the Birmingham Senior Cup & the home league game against Bishop’s Stortford), and wore the captain’s armband in 42 of the 50 games he played in all competitions.

Josh missed just six of the 98 matches we played in all comps since his debut against St Ives Town on 24th August 2024.
