Achievements of the Friends of The Grove

The Friends of The Grove have made a significant impact this season, raising essential funds that have enabled vital renovation projects at the ground while football was temporarily suspended.

Completed Projects:

  • Ground Enhancements:
    • Repainting of all barriers around the stadium.
    • Renovation of the Harry Rudge Stand and the Shed End.
  • Accessibility Improvements:
    • Construction of a new disabled area.
    • Installation of new dugouts.
    • Complete renovation of the changing rooms.

Past Initiatives:
The Friends of The Grove also funded the redevelopment of the toilet block at the Old Hawne Lane end of the ground, addressing a longstanding need for improvement.

  • Men’s Toilets:
    • Removal of the old brick urinal and installation of a custom-built stainless-steel urinal.
    • Walls and ceiling clad for a clean, modern finish.
    • Addition of hot water via a new water heater.
  • Ladies’ and Disabled Facilities:
    • Conversion of the ladies’ toilet into a unisex/disabled-accessible facility with hot water, a hand dryer, and a widened doorway for wheelchair access.
    • Installation of a wheelchair ramp for improved accessibility.

Additional Works:

  • Cladding of the Shed End and the corridor to the changing rooms.

These improvements have been made possible through the generous contributions of Yeltz fans, whether through the monthly prize draw or the purchase of 50/50 tickets at games.

All renovations were carried out by skilled professional Rich Ditchfield, along with dedicated volunteers and supporters.

A special thanks to Ruth Hopkins, General Manager and Head of Access & Development at Level Playing Field, for her consultation on accessibility improvements.

Acknowledgments:
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to every supporter who has contributed to these projects. Together, we’re building a better Grove for all.
