Dan is a Yeltzman! Welcome Dan Meredith 🏴
The club are delighted to announce our second summer signing ahead of the 2026/27 season, as it’s an exciting defensive addition as right back Dan Meredith joins from fellow Southern Premier Central side Leamington.

The 26 year old fullback started his career in the West Brom academy, where he made 31 U’18 Premier League & 36 Premier League 2 appearances across his four years in the main two academy sides. While starting out at West Brom, Dan also played for Scotland’s National Team’s U16 & 17 sides – where he made 20+ appearances

Dan had three National League appearances in a short four month spell at loan at Maidstone United in the first half of 2019. Brought by our new assistant manager Paul Holleran, Dan’s first season at Leamington saw him make just 10 National League North appearances due to the disrupted campaign caused by the Covid pandemic. The season did see his first goal in senior football against Chester.
He made 41 NL North appearances in the 2021/22 campaign, and all 46 in the following season. The latter which resulted in the unfortunate relegation to step 3 for the Brakes. In the 2022/23 season, he played in 36 of the 40 league games, plus both play-off matches on route to their instant promotion back to step 2. He kept 16 clean sheets in the process.

In the 24/25 season, he played 37 games in the NL North and got five assists, before featuring in all but one of their league games last season. Meredith has only been sent off once in his six year long senior career so far, and he brings an end to a six year stint at Leamington to join the Yeltz and bolster our defense after the sad departures of both Jak Hickman & Reece Mitchell.
Yeltz boss Russ Penn expressed his joy at bringing Meredith to the club
“I am delighted to bring Dan to the football club. He has had a few offers from the league above, and along with his good relationship with Paul (Holleran), he’s seen the vision of the club. He’s bouncing more than me at the moment so I can’t wait to see him again in July.
“To get success, you need to bring in quality – robust players who can play a lot of games constantly. I am sure Dan has that. I tried to sign him five years ago at Kiddy, but Paul wouldn’t sell him to me so it was one of those.
“Dan is full of energy, up and down, fit, and has had very good stats in the National North. His location is key, he only lives up the road, and out of all the players we looked at, he was the one who ticked all the boxes. Now he’s at a good age, 26, and has a good head on his shoulders, he is thriving to achieve something here rather than scrapping again in the league above.
“I have watched him flourish over his time at Leamington, and he could have moved on from them many times. He is loyal, but now comes the next chapter in his career. We’ve sold him the dream, and it didn’t take long for him to see it and both parties are happy.”
Everyone at the club would like to welcome Dan to the club 🤝
