Paul Holleran returns to the Yeltz as Assistant Manager

The club are delighted to announce non-league legend Paul Holleran as our new assistant manager

The 55 year old has spent time at the Yeltz previously, when he was the manager from March 2004 to November 2006. Paul managed 144 games for the club, and was manager the last time we made it to the First Round Proper of the FA Cup in November 2004.

He departed the Yeltz in late 2006, and later became manager at Rushall Olympic in January 2007.  Paul spent just over two years as the Pics manager, where he secured step 3 status against the odds in his first few months at the club, and led them to a play-off semi-final the year after.

Holleran departed Rushall in May 2009, before taking over as manager of Leamington later on in the year in November. Paul spent just over 16 years as the Brakes boss, where he became a non-league great having been of charge of a huge 789 matches before departing earlier this year.

After a few months away from the game, Paul returns to football and becomes our assistant manager to team up with Yeltz gaffer Russ Penn after Gary Whild’s departure last week.

Paul expressed his delight at returning to the Yeltz, and shared the reason behind the decision to take on the role of assistant manager

“The club has always been special to me, and I’m delighted to be back associated with the Yeltz. Me and Russ have known each other for a long time.  We have had a couple of chats in recent years and always wanted to work together, and after a few months away from the game, I feel in a position where I’m ready for this next chapter in my football life.

“I had time to think about it, and now I’ve found a role that suits me. I’m hoping my knowledge from over the years can help Russ, the team, and the chairman, because the club have had two good seasons at this level and are now ready to push on. There is always a lot to do at this time of year. Me and Russ are already working hard already to get us ready for the new season. It’s a different role for me, but I’m delighted to get started and help the club out.”

Yeltz manager Russ Penn expressed his delight to have Paul on board

“Me and Paul go back a long way. We all saw the amazing role he did at Leamington, but all things come to an end. We have kept in touch, and with Gary & Martin departing the club, it was a position I wanted to fill with someone I trust, and Paul’s definitely that.”
