Player Departure | Charlie Wragg

We can announce the departure of forward Charlie Wragg who has been recalled from his loan at the Yeltz by his parent club, Walsall FC, after a loan spell spanning just over a year.

Wragg made a total of 20 appearances in all competitions this season for the club, on top of the 17 he made in the last campaign during his first loan spell. The 19 year old scored eight goals in his total 37 appearances, and assisted five. The most memorable of those eight goals being the 2-2 equaliser away at AFC Telford United in last April’s play-off semi-final. The forward also put a goal in the Number 9 Derby in his catalogue of Halesowen memories, after striking the equaliser against the Glassboys in the Yeltz’s eventual 3-1 home victory last February.

Manager Russ Penn shared:

I’d like to thank Charlie for his contribution to Halesowen Town. Wraggy has produced some great performances both last season and this season. He’s scored some big goals for the club and has been a big part of what we are trying to build.

I’d like to thank Ryan Simmonds and Mat Sadler of Walsall for allowing us to have Charlie in his journey of development.

All good things must come to and though and with starts not guaranteed I don’t want to stand in a young boys way when it comes to playing regular football.

Myself and everyone at Halesowen Town wish Charlie all the best in his next steps.”
