Mat Smart Steps Down as Commercial Director
Halesowen Town FC announces that Mat Smart will be stepping down from his role as Commercial Director to focus on his business and family commitments.
Chairman Keith McKenna commented: “Sadly, Mat will be stepping away from his position as Commercial Director to concentrate on his business and family. He has been outstanding in his role and instrumental in many key developments at the club. I want to personally thank him for his tireless dedication, hard work, and unwavering commitment to our cause.
We wish Mat all the very best for the future.”
Mat Smart “After much reflection, I’ve decided to step back from my role at the club to dedicate more time to my family and to focus more deeply on my business. With my daughters at a crucial stage in their education, and ACE Embroidery continuing to grow, this feels like the right moment to rebalance my priorities and be more present where I’m needed most.”
“I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved together on the commercial side of the club. The Club Shop is now the envy of most non-league teams, the new website has set a high standard, and online ticketing is in place ready for the next level. Our networking events have brought in outside interest and sponsorship, and we’re looking forward to hosting the first of what we hope will become an annual golf day. The Charity Day continues to grow each year, our speaker evenings at The Yeltz Bar have been a great success, and the end-of-season presentation was warmly received by all. One of the most rewarding initiatives has been helping to establish the Fans Engagement Group, which I believe will be a fantastic platform for everyone involved with the club.”
“As I step away from day-to-day involvement, I do so knowing the club is on a firm foundation for continued growth and success. My relationship with Keith remains strong, and my sponsorship and support through ACE will continue unchanged. Thank you to everyone for your support, collaboration, and friendship—I’ll always be cheering the club on.”
