Fin Holmes & Rahis Nabi Join The Yeltz

Halesowen Town FC are delighted to announce the arrivals of Fin Holmes from Solihull Moors and Rahis Nabi. Both of which permanent deals and are both available for tonight’s match against Stratford Town.

Fin Holmes featuring for the Yeltz against Hitchin Town last season (21/09/2024)

A familar face, Fin Holmes arrives permanently at the Yeltz and is a welcomed addition to our attacking options. A young, fast, skilful player, who knows where the net is, makes him a brilliant addition to Russ Penn’s current squad. At 19, Fin has already racked up an impressive number of first team appearances. Firstly, he started last season in the blue and white of the Yeltz for a few months where he made seven league appearances, all of which off the bench. In October, he went on loan to Bromsgrove Sporting where he stayed until March, made 17 league appearances, scoring five times, including a goal against us at The Grove on New Year’s Day. He then returned to his parent club, featured in a number of first team matchday squads at the Moors towards the end of last season, and featured seven times in the league, scoring once for Stourbridge so far at the start of this campaign. In recent weeks, along with his spell at the Glassboys, Holmes has featured for Solihull in two of the clubs’ National League Cup matches at the start of this season against Everton’s Academy, where he scored and played 90 minutes, and against Burnley’s Academy where he played for 86 minutes.

Rahis Nabi during his spell at Alvechurch during the 2018/19 season

We are also pleased to welcome Rahis Nabi. The 26 year old featured as an unused substitute in the weekend’s clash with St Ives Town, but has many appearances under his belt for local clubs in the West Midlands. Born in Birmingham, but representing Pakistan internationally, Nabi featured for Alvechurch from December 2018 to the summer of 2020. He made over 15 step 3 league appearances in the 2018/19 campaign, scoring twice including a goal from a free kick against us in January 2019. The midfielder featured alongside current Yeltz men Jamie Willets and Ryan Wollacott at the Church, but his 2019/20 season was struck by injury. Nabi joined Redditch United in the summer of 2021, and has since gone on to play for Cypriot First Division side Doxa Katokopias, and Second Division Side Digenis Akritas Morphou FC. The latter of which he made over 20 club appearances, before departing the club last year.

Yeltz boss Russ Penn shared his thoughts on the pair’s arrival stating,

“I am absolutely delighted to get Fin Holmes permanently at Halesowen Town. Our time together was short lived last season when Fin had a months loan with us. We saw them what a huge talent he was. Fin gives us a different dimension at the top end of the pitch and he will compliment what we already have with our forward players already in the building. Rahis Nabi came to our attention about a month ago and has trained really well since. Rahis has recently played in Cyprus and is ready to go fitness wise. A full international with Pakistan, Rahis is desperate to get going and his eagerness hasn’t gone unnoticed.

“Please show your appreciation to both Fin & Rahis at The Grove this evening.”
