Mfuamba Signs, Hickman Retained

Gael Mfuamba has signed for Halesowen ahead of the 2025/26 season, and Jak Hickman has confirmed that he will be remaining with the squad also.

Gael has been studying a sports diploma at Halesowen College, and featured on the bench in our FA Trophy match against Kidderminster Harriers.

The young goalkeeper featured 18 times last season for Tipton Town, where his manager Neil Parks said that he is, “an outstanding young talent, with a very promising future.”

Jak meanwhile has been with the Yeltz since March 2023, and has been a prominent feature in Russ Penn’s squad.

He isn’t far off making 100 appearances for the club, which should be achieved this season, and has scored a handful of goals during his time at Halesowen so far.

Russ Penn noted that, “Jak had a real consistent season, we have just got to take him to the next level now.

“I’m delighted that he is on board, and it keeps the continuity of what we’re trying to do.

“And of course, we have Gael in between the sticks, to give Platt a bit of competition which is never a bad thing.

“He’s ready for the next step having been a part of the match day squad on a couple of occasions, the lad is only 17 and 6 foot 4!”
