Player Update: Reece Flanagan

Following his early substitution on Saturday vs Bedford Town, we can now provide an update on Reece.

Reece dislocated his shoulder and was taken to A&E as soon as possible. Speaking to club physio Adam Gilbert, he explained that “Reece was in and out within three hours.

“He is in good spirits, having had previous dislocations. He will now spend 6-8 weeks in a sling, before he has an orthopaedic review to check on the healing.

“We will go through rehabilitation for the next 4-6 weeks, and when he is back he will be fitter and stronger.”

Reece has impressed during both pre-season and the opening few games of our Southern Premier Central campaign.

He scored our opening goal of the campaign from the Penalty spot against Kettering, and manager Russ Penn will miss him whilst he is recovering.

‘We are bitterly disappointed about the outcome of Reece’s injury,” said Russ.

“He was and is a big part of what we are building here, and we will miss him.

“My job is to replace Reece, before welcoming him back to a very competitive squad once fit.”
