Halesowen Town Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of Midfielder Nick Clayton-Phillips.
Nick joins from Walsall Wood, and is available for selection on Saturday against Spalding United.
He began his career playing for the U21 squad at West Bromwich Albion, scoring seven goals in Premier League 2.
Subsequently, a series of loans saw him experience football at Steps 1 and 2 with regular turnouts for Braintree Town, Solihull Moors and Kidderminster Harriers.
Manager Russ Penn was delighted to get the signing over the line.
“Nick is someone I’ve previously worked with and followed since he was a young lad making his mark in the game.
“He was very good at the level last year with Alvechurch before moving to the Walsall Wood project.
“We’ve jumped straight in and had Nick in training the last three weeks and we look forward to working with him moving forwards.
“Nick will go straight into the squad this Saturday vs Spalding United.”
Nick himself was delighted to sign for the Yeltz, and is eager to do his hometown proud.
“I’m a halesowen lad so it’s always been a club I’ve wanted to play for.
“A lot of my friends and family are yeltz fans so it makes it that extra bit special for myself.
“The club is properly run and I’ve been to quite a few games myself and the setup and atmosphere amazes me every time.
“One of the best things about Halesowen is obviously the fan base. In my opinion it is arguably one of the best at non league level and I am really looking forward to being on the pitch and playing infront of them.“
